Anyone know p2187 code?? Have a few questions
Hi all
When the car idles more than 3 or 4 min the cel comes on with code p2187 and I sometime get a rough idle.
I have triple checked the air filter and rubber boot where the maf is.
If the problem is downstream from there how can the computer know if the problem is right or left since the air is mixed right after the maf's?
What should I check ? I was told there is a tab for some intake gaskets and bolts? Does this apply to the e63 made in 10-06?
How hard is it to change the intake gasket on our cars?
Thanks so much for all the help.
Erick
Ps; I have a mbstar if anyone needs in montreal.

Intake gaskets are very common as well as the oil separator on the back of the intake. Intake bolts are alloy and they must be replaced. With it idling spray small amounts of brake cleaner around the edges of the intake gasket. It will sputter/stall when you find the leak. Just don't let the vapor get sucked in by the airbox because that will also cause it to sputter giving a false reading.
