New V8TT Tested in C&D
The new S63 is in the latest issue of C&D:

The S63 has very similar acceleration #'s to the S65...and is actually a little faster to 150 mph.

Still no official word yet from AMG and the C63 continuing N/A has me a bit worried.

Beautiful, but I don't like two things:
1. I don't like the gauges. They look too Japanese. I prefer the more classic VDO with bezels.
2. The double humps for the gauges and nav is bulky and it looks like a BMW 7 series copy:

I agree. The guys at MB think that tying the name back to the legendary 300 SEL 6.3 is so meaningful. However, what they failed to realize is that they established a second legend, the 55 Series AMG. You would think that they would value and nuture that, just as the M division does with the "M3" or "M5" mystique...or Audi from the now established RS6.

OK, well now the S63 with the Perf. Package has the power to be noteworthy. The older S63, while a nice car, was simply not too fast - the E55 outclassed it in terms of performance, and various other cars around the 13 second 1/4 mile range.
I wonder what will be of the S65 in the future - performance is just too close to the S63 now, but with a huge price gap for almost the same car.

08 E63, 07 RS4, 04 GT3, 10 LR4, 02 Pajero
Will be great to finally get this engine in the W212 E, especially if it's available in tuned 560 bhp guise like in the S and CL. I can see no reason why this car won't be better than the 5.4k and 6.2 NA in every way. More power and allied to a chassis which now has handling and steering that's at the top of its class. But they sure are making us wait.

New motor has better emissions, better fuel consumption, goes like lightning, I'm hoping they bring this out in the E-Class. Oh and re-name it the E55 Bi-Turbo.
