sanded the surface,
applied etching primer,
sanded it down again,
base coat,
some more sanding with a 1000 grit paper,
paint again
clear coat
scuff the clear up a bit
final clear coar
took me a week to do. used spray cans.

Let us know how it holds up...just did one myself two weeks ago with about 12 coats total...and it was chip city on the first run.

12 coats WOW.. I did about 4 on mine and its held up pretty well.. Its all in the prep, shouldnt need that many coats if you scuffed it up enough.

Damn, what color is his car. I've been rocking flat black on black [was my first mod...ish].
The first time I painted it it chipped, but knock on wood...the second time around I put down a couple of coats of enamel matte and then started spraying Krylon K01309 UV Resistant Clear Coat Matte Finish into the current wet layer. As in wet enamel layer on, add the matte clear [kind of like ****ty mixed clear mitsubishi paint I guess?] I'm chip free so far.
