Found a Hidden Climate Control Feature
Cleaning my dash, I discovered that when you aren't in the car, and its all off and locked up, you can have the climate control on low at any temp. All you have to do is hit the A/C rest button and it'll turn on at the lowest setting at whatever temp it was last at. That got me thinking of a little project. Seeing as it stays on when you're not there without the keys in it, I bet it'd be nice to leave a little bit of heat on during winter shopping or on cold in summer shopping. Back to my idea. I am going to take advantage of the voltage readings in the service menu and see how much this will drain the battery after 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 hours on alone. I'll let you know what I find.

The rest feature is actually old hat. And not to worry. The car monitors the voltage. The rest feature will not stay activated as long as you think. You might want to STFF MBW and/or read your manual on this.

Funny thing is, and I've confirmed this with my MB guy, they never removed the ac/rest buttons for our market, (E55/E63 - W211) ok it would be great to know your outcome with different voltage readings, but the car should have intelligent memory for battery protection against voltage drops.
Also the owners manual comes on a dvd in my E55 W211, nice feature, but nothing beats an old school paper-back Owners manual, read.

Well, today ill try to squeeze the 1 and 2 hour runs in, im thinking itll either a;turn off after 30 mins, or b; turn off when the battery isnt capable of running it without being able to start the car
