DIY Beast Eyes
I was interested in fabbing up some "Beast Eyes" to toggle on for Car Meets, but it seemed like all the pictures were dead in the old threads that involved showing peoples setups. So I set to it while working on another project under the hood.
At first, I wanted to run a wire through the firewall, put a switch under the dash, put a fuse really close to the battery to protect my investment, etc...but:
I'm an Occam's Razor kind of guy. I realized not only will I use these once a month at a maximum for a veritable plethora of reasons. [illegal to have forward facing red lights in Texas, nobody that hasn't seen the Beast Advertisement would understand it, the Knight Rider jokes I'd get, and the fact that it's pretty ricey] So in this case, the simplest, cheapest way to achieve my desired effect was the best solution.
Started off by going to radio shack. You could probably end up going my route for cheaper if you omitted some of these items, but my total out the door was $26, with mounts that I could leave in the car and just add the LED's for meets if I so desired. The Clips are $.99, the batteries were $11.99 for 3, the Assorted Tape was $2.99, each Large LED was $2.99 and the small LED's were 2 for $1.99
If you wanted to make this bare-bones, cheapest possible, this is what your final product would look like, with the addition of some electrical tape and with the smaller LEDs:
I, on the other hand, wanted battery mounts that I could eventually mount permanently such that I could just add the battery+LED in for meets, which I could store in my glove box or something. So this is what your LEDs will look like with bases/clips:
I made some loops of electrical tape, and mounted them to the metal tube that runs across the front of the radiator. This seems approximately the right height according to the ad, so why mess with it? This picture is the brightness during the day with the huge LEDs.
And here's a crappy iPhone shot at night.
Before the flame war, I know these are gimmicky as hell, I just wanted those of y'all that ever wanted to put these on for a meet to know how STUPIDLY EASY and CHEAP this setup is. I know that Yacht Master and ENDSMTG have decent, wired, mounted setups. Perhaps they can take better pics for those of you that want a permanent solution.

Beast Eyes
I always wanted the beast eyes, ricey or not, so I picked up some LED's and installed a fused toggle. Some may call it ricey, but rarely see them anyway, cause they are normally looking at the other set of LED's on the back! Anyway, here are some pics, they are hardwired.

...this post makes me feel dumb..... whenever I have seen the beast eyes in pics I thought it was the light coming from the distronic.
I could swear there is an all black amg on here with distronic and beast eyes.

I found it in a different thread regarding these beast eyes, I'm sure that whoever posted it has an original.

These are attached directly to grill with a wire going under the heat shield and then feeding into the stock wire harness loom coming off the back of the hood and then goes to second battery. switch in ashtray area, although I just keep them on 24/7.
One thing I like is that people move out of my way when I creep up on them at night. Otherwise, they just stay on and people think they are for the alarm or something as they always ask.

The closer you mount the LEDs to the back of the grill, the better you can see both eyes from all angles when looking it at it.
Otherwise, as soon as you look at the car at any other angle other than head on,gets distorted and you will usually only see one led.

Awesome. I'd love to see someone's expression in a car as they look in their rearview mirror and see your car with these red eyes barreling down on them. I'm envisioning some people swerving or pulling off the road.
