R & T "winner" not clear?
What made the E55 the overall winner was basically the lower price. This seemed to boil down to E55 better luxury and straight line speed vs handling and "fun factor" of the RS6. I found it interesting that most of the editors would have chosen the RS6 for their own personal use. Personally the interior of the RS6 leaves me cold. The seats, center console, and red lettering and markings on black were strong negatives.

Alz you are correct!
I felt that their "subjective" evaluation was better done than the car and driver evaluation. You're right about the exterior evaluation, but that's a matter of individual taste. It seems to me that the reality of what most of us face for everyday driving would make the E55 an easy winner.

Alz, when reading the article I was thinking the same thing, the RS6 doesn't hold a candle to the E55 in the looks the department. E55 wins that one hands down. After reading the article, the E55 seems even more like the easy choice... it also made me more anxious to get mine.

That A6 body style is what, 5-6 years old?
And it was dull and uninspiring when it first hit the streets.
Audi's design strategy has always embraced the understated, simple look which they believe ages more gracefully.
And it does. But it's just plain boring at the same time.
To be willing to pay $85,000 for a dull looking car whose body style will be completely revised in one year takes a lot of enthusiasm on the aprt of the RS6 guys.
And as previously pointed out, watch the depreciation factor on that unit.
Painful.
