W211 E55 at Autobahn in Belmont CA - huge scratch
Last weekend I dropped by Autobahn to check out what they had on the lot. I asked the sales guy if they had any new E55's and he pointed me to one in the back. It was at the detailing area. As I looked over the car, the hood had around a 3-4 inch pretty deep scratch on it - up towards the windshield. I would be so pissed if that was my car - so if by chance you read this hope that they did not just cover it up somehow!
What would you do?
1) Demand a different E55
2) Demand a new Hood - drive this one until new one arrives
3) Allow them to paint match it
I think I would go with 2 because I would not be able to wait for a new one to arrive,

I can tell you what happened... the guy took it with the scratch, then brought it back to have the scratch fixed... now it is sitting there waiting to be fixed. I am pretty sure he is taking it after it is fixed.

Well... a new hood would require being sprayed, so a respray is probably the best way to repair it.
I think it went over to Eurotech.

How often do you think new cars are damaged during shipping and repaired/painted, etc prior to delivery?
I would think it's not rare.
I assume there are legal requirements about disclosure, but I would also question how often such rules are bent or ignored.
