E55 Office chair...complete! (Pic)
Well...I finally got around to doing my office chair conversion of the seat I bought off ebay.
Turned out GREAT. I still need to pick up a shorter cylinder for it...but other than that, very happy.
Remember, I did have to actually put the seat in my car to adjust it to the proper seating position...but that was a snap as well.
I may or may not remove the seat belt buckle...for now, it's on. Let's people know it really was in a car at some point.
I ended up just using a 1/2" sheet of furniture grade plywood (painted it black of course) I had laying around for a base and a donor chair from an office chair sitting in the corner in the basement.

Believe it or not...your calves don't come anywhere near the storage bin. These seats actually have ridiculous thigh support in comparison to a regular office chair. I'm 6'1" and when I sit in it right now my toes barely touch the ground...and it isn't at all uncomfortable. It's just odd. And I'm sure it would get old fast.
I'll update with some more pics once I get the short hydraulic installed and then it should be good to go. Having all the gizmos would be great..but I've got other projects ahead of that. Would need a brain box, battery, pump...too much stuff to get it working to be worth it I think.
OK. Except the ventilation. That may be worth it.

My $200 office chair has ventilation. It seems to work after I've had Mexican food for lunch. The only problem is that is smells bad when it works.
