TB failure???
I took on a load of Shell 93 and a bottle of techron and rolled out onto the freeway not a 10th of a mile from the gas station. I dialed on a bit of power. The car accelerated as normal and then nothing. The throttle response was gone. I had a CEL and ESP go to shop warning. I restarted the car. It fired right up but idle was horrible, surging RPM from 700 to 1,500. Tried a few more times then towed to the dealer. The dealer says its either one or both throttles. I did not know I had two of them. Not sure if the techron thing is just a coincidence or not.

I believe unplug the tb, plug it back in.
Turn the key to the run position (just before the crank position). The blade will move a few times but keep the key in this position for 3-4 minutes where it will move again by itself and then start the car.
The plug to the TB was not always making a proper connection on mine, the pins are very small.

Yep the TB ate a gasket. I had tons of trouble convincing the techs that just because the TB wasn't stock (AMG 80) didn't mean they could not touch it. They thought the ECU was going to somehow reflash itself back to stock if they unplugged the TB. Finally they removed the "Y" pipe and saw the problem. I guess they were being extra cautious. They were willing to sell me a whole new TB and boost throttle though. I wonder what that would have cost plus install.
Thanks again for all of the help
I pulled over and yanked the intake apart and saw the gaske sticking out with the TB jammed wide open.Yanked it out and reset ecu and off I went to work.
I actually mad a warning thread about it for people running bigger tbs
