Ouch.... not good!!! Have you talked to them about it yet? They are sponsors on the board now. How long have you had them on the car before they cracked?

Have you checked the condition of your motor mounts? If they've failed or are failing, it's entirely possible that the engine is flexing side-to-side too much under load. No header will withstand excessive rotational flex, particularly when connected to the stock E55 exhaust system which has fixed attachment points about a foot downstream of the primary converters.

Alltrac- I am hoping we may have outside forces or another unusual parameter causing this problem. I can be reached directly at 561-845-7888 xt 23 so we may schedule a time convenient for you to examine your vehicle closer.
Regards,
Mark @ RENNtech

Actually, I contacted u guys when the first header cracked and u guys were of little help. My motor mounts are ok and the cracks develop at places where there are welds.

My recommendation, if you decide to repair the cracked \ failing welds is to ceramic coat (or Jet Coat) the headers to keep the heat in the pipe and protect the stainless steel...the cost is marginal compared to the benefit.

I had my Kleeman headers Jet Coated last year and a firm believer in this process.

Unfortunately, I am unsure of what the problem may be or under what circumstances we were unable to help you the first time. If you would like to discuss having the situation resolved, you may want give us the opportunity to correct it, especially since you are indicating a problem with both headers which is a product we have sold countless units and had hardly an issue with. If so, you may contact me here as previously posted.
Thanks- Mark

Actually, keeping the heat inside will make the header expand even more which would make cracking more likely. Cracking headers are due to bad design and/or welding. There is no easy way to get around that.

You are correct GT-ER, keeping the heat inside will, well heat it more and be more likely to crack.

However when ceramic coating headers, it can be and usually is done on the inside and out of the headers which lowers the overall temperature of the headers and will be less likely to crack the bad welding/design. Slownrusty was on the right path.

Called and spoke to Mark from Renntech today. He was very helpful and was genuinely concerned about their product and the fact that my prior contact with them regarding the other header cracking didn't go well .

He offered me an option of setting up an appointment and bringing them the car so they could perform the labor of removing the headers at little to no cost. Even though, this was an option, I already had the car at another shop (prior to discovering the crack...thinking it was a leaking gasket) replacing all the exhaust gaskets, so I decided to leave it there.

Either way, he assured me that Renntech would in fact replace or repair the headers free of cost (even went as far as providing free shipping back and forth)!!!! I will follow up how everything turns out, but so far Renntech and Mark looks to be genuinely concerned...
