ESP NOT WORKING
I took the car out the other day and got the following messages;
1. ESP visit workshop
2. Active hdlmp currently unavailable visit workshop
3. Cruise control Drive to workshop
The car operates fine but I can not disengage the ESP traction control
and the cruise control is inoperable. I would guess that some sensor has
failed but I have no idea where to start. If any members have experienced
a similar problem I would be very grateful for recommendations. My car is
a 2005 with 63k. I have been fortunate to not have had many issues to date.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Had the car been parked for a long time (dead battery)? Try resetting it by turning the steering wheel lock to lock a few times to reset the esp. Worth a shot.

+1 disconnect both batteries for a bit reconnect them start the car turn wheel left then right a few times to reset it. Usually works for me whenever I get ESP malfunction

I finally had some time to try the different recommendations and unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. All the fuses seem intact although none specifically mention the traction control. I disconnected both batteries twice for an extended period and reconnected them and cycled the steering lock to lock 3-4 times with no effect on the ESP malfunction. Any other advise or insight into what electrical sensors may affect the ESP functions.
