So listening to you cars want me to risk divorce and run out and get a new exhaust. My only concern is my E is my daily driver, and I drive a lot. I also have customers many times, so on the highway or stop light to stop light can't be too loud, but I still want that rumble when I jump on it. Is this even possible with these exhaust manufacturers, or do I need to adjust my expectations?

From what I have learned on this awesome forum - it is totally possible to have a little more of an exhaust note that is civilized and still have more aggressive sounds when you stomp on it.

The setup I have right now is like Jekyll and Hyde. When your cruising you hear alittle something, however when you jump on the throttle you know about it. On the highway or cruising around town you can have a conversation with your passengers. You hear a slight exhaust note in the cabin.

OK. So I just got off the phone with Bruce at TTM - what an awesome guy! He doesn't know me from adam and he spent as much time with me as I needed...

So he is big on keeping the resonator stock to avoid drone. He thinks that if you are going to put on an xpipe it should be as close to the engine as possible and that it should be siamese not a true xpipe.

His recommendations were simple - delete post cats keep the resonator stock. 3" from resonator to muffler if I wanted to do more...

Thanks all for your help - and I wish I had the budget for the eisenmann....sweet muffler!

The setup that Bruce suggested for you is what I had him do on mine. If you havent heard the exhaust when complete, its in my sig page or more videos under the threads that I started. Bruce does high quality work.

I used the tips that came with the exhaust and sold my old magnaflow setup with stock tips.

The Eurocharged mufflers sounds great too.
