Need E63 engine noise solutions....
Hi guys.
Purchased my car in November from Chicago and drove it home to Montreal ( around 1000 mi).
The car's warranty was just up when I purchased it. From the history of the car One month before the warranty was up the past owner had the trans replaced ,the right camshafts, lifters ,and adjusters.
The right front part of the head still makes noise like a lifter problem .
Can lifters go bad that fast? Went to 2 Benz dealerships and there top tech listened to it , one said it was normal the other thinks it is carbon buildup on the top of the piston . Tried a few products for carbon and nothing helped.
I am mechanically inclined .should I remove the valve cover? If so what can that tell me?
Sorry for the bad spelling I am French speaking
Thanks
Erick

My car makes a strange rattling/clanking sound at start up but only lasts for a few seconds. It's at the dealer getting checked under warranty. I'm thinking maybe an adjuster. I know a couple of 63 motors that have had this same problem. Keep us updated.
