Arrrgh! Pot Holes Suck

Just re-tuned the car with Jerry, and washed it. Driving home hit a massive pot hole and bend a rim lip. Nothing big, but Fawk! Need to have it straighted now and refinished. I just did this!!!!

Well not quite, but you can take pictures, author a few paragraphs on what happened and submit a claim (need the repair bill for the wheels) and the public works department should honor it. I have done it before and it worked out well.

Definitely a bumper crop of pot holes this year thanks mostly to an icy winter in many parts of the country.

That is why I sold my DPE SL5 20's. I found I was driving like I was drunk most of the time trying to dodge the potholes. I got so stressed that I could not even enjoy the beast. I sold them and went back to 18's with a little more rubber.

Lol

My 20" wheel cracked on a pothole a few weeks back while returning from finishing up my exhaust and doing maintenance. I feel your pain.

I certainly can understand this, I have just slightly more sidewall then a 20" wheel, but dam those holes. I have bent two front wheels to date. This country needs to rebuild it's infrastructure, roads, bridges, sewer and water lines, and the electrical grid, just to mention a few.

I wouldn't be surprised if the inside edge of some of my 20s have bent lips.

That sucks to hear Peter. Toronto roads are not considered roads but you gotta admit it was bound to happen here. I used to bend my brabus wheels all the time stupid Toronto pot holes. Hope you can get it fixed fast!

Is this all because you guys are running low profile tires?

And are cars run what would be considered an aggressive negative camber, so the wheels are very prone to bending on the inside.

KLR did you bend the inside or out?

What PSI do you run? I rock potholes all the time and i've yet to bend a rim, this set and previous sets. I run 45psi all around so that usually helps prevent bends
