calling all geniuses!! Car is acting funny with codes
Ok so here we go...I'm driving down to DC around 9:30 last night and the car starts to act a little weird. The power is in and out as I drive and the idle is higher then normal. The idle some times fluctuates up and down also. If I'm at a red light I feel as if the car is trying to go when my foot is on the break. The car sometimes stalls after startup...and some times the ESP light comes on saying visit work shop then the pedal becomes unresponsive until I restart the car..... I ran the codes from the check engine light and got this....
P0341 camshaft sensor
P0120 Tps Sensor
P0502 Idle Air control
P0505 Idle Air control system
P0221 Throttle Position
I'm thinking it's the TPS sensor, But which one? The TPS on the gas pedal or throttle body? Has anyone on here had a bad TPS on there E55?

A star machine will be able to pinpoint which TB it is. It can test and actuate both the top and lower throttle bodies.
Car will go into limp mode if there is a problem with the TB.
goodluck.

Before buying anymore parts I would see if a member has a star das near you or just pay the cash and have the service guys run star. It's pretty prescise about what is happening with er.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. After installing the new pedal and resetting the car it now runs great. I installed the old pedal just to see if it was the old pedal causing the problem and sure enough it was. New pedal is in and car is running great again.

I un plugged the ecu so I wouldn't have to re-sync everything else. Sun roof, chair, radio etc....
But u could also disconnect the battery if u don't want to mess with all the connectors to the ECU.

Unplugging the main battery just means re-syncing the ECU (turn lock to lock a few times) and the windows, which takes 2 minutes. the seats, radio, IC settings, radio presets, climate control settings, etc... does not reset unless you unplug both battery's simultaneously for a few minutes.
