Okay kidding aside, there is used one on Ebay for around 2K. New from the rapist dealer expect 4-5K
If you're gonna pay that, have your current tranny sent off for rebuild.
Southern Hot Rod will do it for 3500K plus your core sent to them. Great guys who built this stuff all day long.
There ya go. Don't say I never did anything for ya.

I would be very happy if it was $3500. **** I would probably do it for that.
From a different post:
Our price is $4,899.00 (same price as the Chrysler guys pay NO MB TAX...LOL)
I have redesigned the driving clutch packs and use proprietary Kevlar clutches as the stock paper clutches will not hold up to extreme high hp (actually high torque).
Redesigned one of the problematic sprags also.
The amount of welding and machining as well as valve body mods to get these to hold up and shift properly is amazing.
A dealer would take one of these High Torque Capacity NAG1's apart and just say what the Hell is this?
These are currently being used in the fastest Chrysler LX's, Jeep SRT8's.
Some of these guys are pushing 1,000 ft lbs ++ through our transmissions.
All this being stated....we find the 722.6 NAG1 as a VERY good tranny for stock and lightly modded applications.
My '97 500SL (unmodified) still runs and shifts perfectly.
It is all a function of "How much power, applied how often"?
The 1st sign of your NAG1 failing will be a slooooow 1-2 shift and then a sloooow 2-3 shift. Serious problem, go VERY easy on it from there.
I was a Daimler Mechanical Engineer fro 10 years, I DO know how the Engineers think.
Call Eddie at Southern Hotrod 504 712-5512 or myself at 704 451-6332 we are always available for you.
Oh...as you can see by the large number of Chrysler guys running our NAG1's we did test them out fully before we even considered becoming site vendors here.

Just going from SgtStanko. He is good friends with them and posted
That was back in Oct 2010 so things might have changed since then.
It states $3,600......5k if your sentimental and want to hold on to the old core.

SHR will do a tranny for $3500. SSR has a deal with a SHR trans + FTI torque converter for 4'gs( which I am trying really hard not to buy right now!!). You can also go with rebuild options as there are a lot of trans places with experience rebuilding NAG1/722.6 transmissions.Rebuild would be $1500-2000 ish
