manhattan potholes, 2 flat tires at once!
So, I was driving with a few people in the car today - and I turned into a street around downtown Manhattan, go over the usual manhole/rough road, and my window is open. All of a sudden I hear a hissing sound. I think oh boy, what can this be - maybe it was something nearby. 10 feet later I roll to a stop, the car is feeling funny.
I get out, and look. Front tire is flat. One of my passengers tells me the rear tire is flat, too. What the! I can't believe both the front and rear tire got flat at the same time.
One I can handle, but two!? Haha, NYC roads are so bad.

Believe it or not, I got lucky. What did the tire in was the jagged metal portion of the manhole within the pothole, and I hit that at very slow speeds, so only the tire hissed air out and the rims were OK.

I know the feeling. I had the same thing happen to me a few years back
in NJ with my E350. One pot hole, two blown tires and one cracked wheel.
Glad I had the tire and wheel insurance. Saved me some money.
