i can only think the car is leaning out up top , your getting more air flow , your exhaust is opened up so its flowing better so now you need to more fuel . i would relax on the top end runs until you Tune the car

But you left out one important variable, "Catch Em" your friendly neighborhood state trooper, at that speed your going to jail. Those speeds should only be done on the track.
You were flirting with disaster my friend. I'm still a little shell shocked about doing 97 mph in a 55 last September and going to court, and facing $2500 fine, 1 yr suspension and 7 days in jail. Luckily, I had a good lawyer. Paid $150 fine, $82 court fee, and 5 points. I learned my lesson.

Any chance you just bumped up againt the factory top speed limiter???
I don't know how the factory actually cuts power (cut spark, remove timing, removes fuel or some combination).... but I'd imagine no matter how they do it, it's going to cause a pretty noticeable stumble once you get there.

These cars are freak shows sometimes. Happens to me all the time. Hard pull up to 3rd and then at a redlight, the car feels like its a pro stock car idling.
I have cams and stuff but still! Weird.

Those other techniques I listed are better suited for the mechanical linkage-type vehicles.

+1
I have pushed my car to 150mph+ speeds on wide open roads as well (wont say where) but I feel lucky not to have been caught.

It really is playing with fire when you are in the 90-100mph range.
Im not planing on doing that again unless im on a track.
I'm lucky, I have a 1 mile flat private road just by my house that goes into a state park and closes at dusk. It's exactly 1 mile long, 2 lanes and empty of any traffic.
I do half mile blasts on it all the time, late in the evening 10PM - 11PM or so and have a half mile to slow the beast down.
Once I get my headers installed I'll do this again. Hoping to hit 150 MPH! I'll film it as well so you'll have proof.
But again this is basically a closed road after dark with no cross traffic, cross streets.
I lub it. (hehe...)

I go 150+ once a week or more on public roads, waaaay out in the middle of nowhere. Let the preaching begin.
Solid as it gets at those speeds.

do these cars having issues cooling at WOT runs at those speeds. That was a HUGE issue on the 03/04 Cobra and many killed their motors that way. A couple comanies came out with head cooling mods that evened out the coolant accross the motor. I did a 155 mph pull the day I bought mine and it felt solid as a rock. Anyone else have more info or a link about cylinder #8 going lean and how to reduce that chances of this happening? I am going with a stage 2 package from eurotune next month and wonder if the fatter tune will help with the new pulley. thanks!
