I would say he is running whatever tune was last flashed..Same as everybody else said, ME 2.8 is Write only over OBD port.

I wonder if with the flash loader guys have a ECU setup to flash at their location like on a bench. After the customer reads their ECU and sends the file to them they flash the customer's information to the mocked up ECU then write files or make adjustments. Or upload your info to that ECU and change maps save files to flash loader and send files back to the customer. Not sure if that makes since or is even possible.

So in conclusion unless the ECU is pulled, the co a or co b flash cannot be read etc?

Audi & BMW cars can be read from OBD2. some benz can.

i think the 55 can be read through OBD2 as i recall once.

Question----- could you have different tune files loaded onto a cd or dvd, and then use those cds to flash on the file via SDS? (can do a similar thing with my ktm)
So, basically can you load the tunes onto a cd. Because I know the latter part is possible.
