Anyone selling W211 E55 Engine or know where?

It looks like cylinder #2 on my engine is about to go ka-put. Confirmed with compression test and all other cylinders around the 155 to 160 psi, but #2 is in the 139 range. The dealer confirmed and so did my indy shop. And, both said it will drop in compression over time and that I will need to RR or get a replacement engine. I was informed the low compression is due to the scoring in #2 and oil blowing past piston #2. The indy shop confirmed its NOT an ecu, fuel or program issue (so lets not start any unfounded rumors). For whatever reason, my #2 cylinder is down and out due to normal wear and tear. Oh well, ***** happens.

With that said, anybody know where I can get a W211 E55 engine? I love my car and intend to keep my car for a very long time (otherwise, I would just trade it in and get a new one). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If they are all near that number then it wouldn't be a problem but all the cylinders giving high 150's and ONE giving high 130's does indicate a potential issue.

I'd rebuild the engine though instead of fining a replacement.

I would have told you to relax and it's not that bad, but if they scoped it and saw scoring then I guess that's that.

139 usually is nothing to worry about ya know. I have zero oil issues and running fine and I have a cylinder at 140.

Like finding a needle in a haystack...these engines.

My suggestion is to have cash ready cause when one comes open, its a free for all to see who gets it.

Look to spend anywhere from 6-10K.

Wish you could rebuild. Save you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

if you plan to keep the car, i think rebuilding is a better option. Have the block rebuilt, put some forge pistons, change all the bearings. in terms of money it is going to cost the same as a used motor but atleast you know your motor is strong. Who knows what history the used motor has.
