Went LSD WaveTrac in the rear
While my car is down, I went ahead and bought a WaveTrac LSD for the beast as I got an amazing deal. Any guys have experience with them over the Quaiffe diff?
Pretty excited about it as Bruce at TTM says it is the game changer.

I can walk to it from my house. Literally.
I'll see what they come back at me with a quote for cut-outs I want...and they just may end up getting all of the other work I've got back-logged due to the delay on the long-tubes (yep...still have the heat exchanger, 180 pulley, and tune waiting to go...)
Doh.

RE: Wavetrac
A guy with an SL55 posted on the SL AMG board a while back that he got a Wavetrac installed, he was happy it, said it helped his car considerably.

I am a wavetrac dealer and have sold a lot of them for the evolution with no problems. I will be installing one in my car soon. Putting a chattering clutch type rear lsd would not be ideal and the wavetrac does offer the best of both.

2006 E55 Pewter - Stockish
I talked to Bruce at TTM right after I got my beast and the first thing he said to do was get a quaife or wavetrack LSD...I am curious from any of you why this is such a gamechanger? What exactly will it improve? Please excuse my ignorance I love learning about this stuff on this great forum!!
It seems like after reading the link from Timetoy that if you are not on the track - and I don't look at the E55 as a good track car - what benefit will you get?

An upgraded LSD will help send power to the wheel with the most grip, instead of the stock open diff whereas power is sent to the wheel with least grip, generally speaking.
Congrats on the purchase, Chawkins! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Truly is a game changer. I just put a Quaife in mine >500 miles ago and it's a completely different car..
Ya it's still got a lot of traction issues but every single aspect of the driving the car is enhanced.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts homie
