i've looked everywhere i can think of but i cant see to find them

can anyone help?!!

dychen 05-17-2011 01:44 PM

I thought you had to buy the front bumper for that?

dannish23 05-17-2011 01:51 PM

yeah you do to my knowledge, but i hear that you can buy drl led's with a grill for them sepreatley

Badabings 05-17-2011 01:51 PM

Looks like you can get them without buying the bumper.

Price is about $465.00USD

Not sure how to order them but here is what you're looking for.

http://www.wald.co.jp/blanballen/w211_led.html

dannish23 05-17-2011 01:53 PM

V12Godspeed 05-17-2011 02:03 PM

Me like. :)

Badabings 05-17-2011 02:12 PM

A co-worker of mine is Japanese. He is looking in to it for me, trying to find a website to purchase from.

ShangoAshe 05-17-2011 02:38 PM

I have them for my w220 S55 but it came with my Wald Front Bumper! (You can see it in my "garage")

I would suggest asking Vivid Racing because they are a vendor on our forums and they are also a distributor for Wald.

dychen 05-17-2011 02:40 PM

I was just going to say Vivid always has Wald kits advertised for sale on this forum so they must be able to get them for you.

can he find one extra for me? :naughty:

ShangoAshe 05-17-2011 03:17 PM

I can tell you right now that ANY Wald Products will have to be ordered through exclusive Dealer. Vivid Racing as one of them and I believe Jonari is also another big company sourcing WALD products.

You will NOT be-able to purchase any Wald things outside of distributor.

ShangoAshe 05-17-2011 03:29 PM

one more thing I forgot to mention Wald only sells their products online to locals and do NOT ship international.

I know this because I purchased a bunch of Wald products my self and searched forever for a distributor in north america!

Badabings 05-17-2011 04:05 PM

Possibly. He emailed the company and will buy them locally in Japan and have them shipped to our office by a friend there. Depending on the weight it might add $50-$100 to the total price. Once Wald responds to him I'll let you guys know if it makes sense.

I'd also like to see if Vivid Racing can get them...might be cheaper to buy from them.

komp55 05-17-2011 04:15 PM

Accordng to the official Wald website, Jonari is the official USA distributor.

To my knowledge, this one particular LED adapter/insert was designed for the E63 AMG front bumper. If you want to PnP, I guess some mods to the bumper or the LED insert, or maybe the infamous E63 AMG front conversion is awaiting...:D

dannish23 05-17-2011 05:21 PM

Here is the reply I received from my recent inquiry from Jonari Corp Sales Team.

"We don't stock the BlanBallen line from WALD. We can special order them from WALD. They will cost you $500 delivered to any US address.

Fyi: the LED's WALD uses on the W211 are cheaper plastic ones, and you can see the visible screws on the the unit. The main advantage is that you get a custom housing specifically made for the W211...so you save money on no fabrication time."

dannish23 05-25-2011 01:28 AM

anybody thinking about group buy for maybe a cheaper price?!

mikey33 05-25-2011 01:32 AM

So, are they cheapy parts or are the WALD LED's good quality???

So thats the cost of the cheaper plastic ones , and not the high end FRP ones.
I think the FRP ones look more OEM and also you dont have the ugly screws showing

Any updates on these WALD led fog lights? I was looking at the picture of the orange e63 above, and I swear those are the stock LED fog lights on the W212 AMG's. If so, do they just fit right in place???

I did mine with Philips Daylight 4 LED DRL while keeping the fogs. The Philips DRL is made of very high quality which has glass lense, metal body and real reflectors for each LED (unlike cheaper made units that has a magnifying lense over forward facing LED) which is E-mark approved I believe.

I like the design of Wald better due to the cleaner look but for those who would like to keep stock fogs can consider the Philips which is easily reversible (only 2 small holes has to be drilled on the side with solid platic cover).

Okay guys. I heard from Jonari, but they said they want me to collect all payments and make a single payment to them. They then would want me to provide all addresses. I do not think I want to do this because I personally do not want to be held responsible with other peoples money. I tried contacting them again and see if they can change this. If so, I would like to have this thing wrapped up soon. Below is a list, add your name if you want in and can pay this week, thanks Chris! :y

you say $500 right? for the whole set up with the mesh grille housing and everything correct?

mikey33 06-07-2011 03:36 AM

With a group buy of 3 people it would be $470 plus $20 shipping so $490 total. With five people it would be $420 + $20 shipping so $440 total.

I just heard back from Jonari and they said they CAN take payments separately, so lets get this thing done this week so they can start making our fog lights. Also, yes the price includes the mesh, housing, led, and everything!

mikey33 06-07-2011 03:37 AM

Forgot to mention, they are the only authorized distributor in North America for WALD, so their prices are the best possible. :)

Although it's not cheap, I have a feeling that these are just for looks only. I think I'll just stick with my stock round ones and buy a more brighter higher quality replacement bulb.

Well, I have decided against the WALD LED's. I am going to go factory because it looks so smooth and there will be no issues sourcing parts and waiting.

+1 I would rather spend $500 somewhere else

Tranman 06-10-2011 12:59 PM

Damn.. I feel like I'm a misfit. Previous owner put on an E63 rear bumper...so it's difficult to find a rear diffuser. And i love the LED look, but it doesn't look right on a E55 front bumper.

Interesting, thanks for the link and response. I like the look, just would have to fabricate the meshes.

Chris The Swede 09-03-2011 06:07 AM

Hold the Horses!!! I was way off...After hours of research I think I got it now. I looks like it is the MB Original LED from the W212 AMG E63. Check the comparison pic I did here:

Nice research, but the size between the two appear off with the W211 being longer and shorter. I'm going to visit the dealer next week and measure. $256 each but worth it if they fit and factory quality vs the Wald. Thanks Chris.

Chris The Swede 09-03-2011 04:59 PM

It is defenetly that one. I think it is the angles of the pics that trick you a bit.

FYI, the above are just the LED lights only, you need the housings which actually are very reasonable for MB parts.

A2128850553 $30.00
A2128850753 $30.00

So to do this would be around $600 or so. Alternative LEDs would bring the price down substantially.

Chris The Swede 09-06-2011 07:13 PM

So I was correct ?

Those prices do not come up on the website, will call direct tomorrow. EDIT: Heard back from my dealer, 2 weeks to get those moldings which are only available in Germany at the moment. This is why they are not in the dealers database, needs to be loaded in.

pearlpower 09-08-2011 10:14 PM

Update: Received the new LED grills, they are substantially larger vs the E63 bumper opening. In fact they are even cheap plastic! But, from my short initial check it appears with some serious fabricating I can get it to fit. If anyone wants pics let me know and I will post.

Chris The Swede 09-09-2011 02:47 AM

Of course the grills dont fit. That is why I didnt order thouse. They are all palstic on new models. Even on the E63 front that I thought you had like the orange one has?

Question is? Is there anyone that DONT want pics? ;)

Not sure where your coming from, this is a E63 conversion so I do not have the fogs that came with it. Explained that I thought. Even the angles are not correct on these grills vs the bumper. Tomorrow is transmission install day and then the weekend will be checking into the bumper further. I can fabricate just about anything to fit anything, just that for those that need to outsource the work, it could get costly going this option. As is , over 1.5" of the bottom of the fog grill must be cut just to fit the housing-this I stated earlier, the housings are proportionally off with the W212 fog opening being much taller vs the W211.

Looking at the photos above, I doubt the the same fog housings were used as I do not see the angle that is present on the W212 units.

Metal would have been preferred and I might just go ahead and make a metal subframe for the cut grill to fit. We shall see. All is not lost yet. Just waiting for the LEDs to come in.

Chris The Swede 09-09-2011 03:10 AM

Sorry I was just surpriced you didnt know it was plastic but not I know why. Metal was my choise for this. I will just make a new mesh. I wont even use the old fogs I think. The most importent here where how the LEDs fit. I will get mine today and look into it my self as well.

pearlpower 09-09-2011 03:18 AM

Looking forward to your setup. As I plan on painting the bumper this weekend, need to come up with a final solution soon. Hopefully my LEDs get here tomorrow. I'm actually contemplating going a different route as well and use Audi LEDs which appear to fit-measured my neighbors.

Chris The Swede 09-09-2011 03:19 AM

As I stated above, not even close-2" off in some spots and the slant on the W212 does not follow the contour of the W211 E63 bumper. I'm going to dust off the welder and fab my own grills to match up to Audi leds.

A few people have already done this conversion. I think you can find posts throughout MBWorld now. There are some in the W211 forums too.

I'm not sure where the others sourced their parts, but I bought mine from Japan at this store:

http://www.aoyama-pitin.co.jp/

Here is the page with the parts:

http://www.aoyama-pitin.co.jp/benzu/w211/w211.htm

I went there in person. The cost was 478 in USD.

Yeah they aren't the most responsive via email.

I had to go order in person and then come back to pick them up since they don't keep them in their inventory.

I don't know when I will go back to Tokyo. However, if I go again, I will post to see if people want me to help buy any of these kits.

If you would like to wait, we can always order a set for you for $575, but the wait time is roughly 4 weeks.

I have been searching for some nice DRL but due to the difficulty of getting the WALD and wanting to have a factory finish I have continued searching... I came across these this morning and I'm wanting to pull the trigger... Thoughts?

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Whole...581029912.html

Looks to be right about $250 shipped with a sketchy ordering system but I just sent the seller a message and Im waiting on a reply. It says its ABS material so its plastic and not high end glass but (from what I can tell in the crappy pics) it looks a lot better than the alternatives, provided the difficulty of getting the wald products. Anyone have experience with these?

dchl21 02-10-2014 03:47 PM

Yeah I saw those also but I thought they were different. Now taking another look they may be the same but the eBay ones are only like $152 shipped. :nix: Anyone have experience with those? I am probably going to pull the trigger tomorrow if I don't hear back anything for sure thats negative.

berti_00 02-10-2014 10:22 PM

No they are legit you'll get them only worry is If they actually fit, but yah do keep us posted

aMgAVERICK 02-11-2014 12:37 AM

Well I pulled the trigger and just bought them and will post up the end result. Oh and a little correction... They are $152 + $20 for shipping. So its actually a total of $172 shipped. Also, according to the description these will only fit a w211 e55 with a converted e63 front end or obviously a w211 e63 as that was what they were designed for.

Sorry "if" this is high jacking the original focus of the thread... Just trying to help everyone and learn a bit in the process.

berti_00 02-11-2014 12:48 AM

sweet price if they do end up fitting but from the picture on the site they def will not fit. Though they do claim they fit so i guess only time will tell at this point

From what I've heard, they're around $500 USD regardless of where you get them from.

berti_00 02-11-2014 08:14 PM

I saw some $730

Primus63 02-11-2014 08:46 PM

We should get a group buy going on this to see what kind of discount we can get.

aMgAVERICK 02-11-2014 09:10 PM

Agreed... Who ever is talking to Vivid Racing... Let's see if we can maybe just setup an online purchase with a coupon code discount to make it easy provided we hit a minimum commitment to buy on here. That's the easiest I've seen these things run. Or have each person call in and provide payment information to them over the phone and then charge once they reach the number and a previously agreed upon price.

I can tell you right now there's NO WAY I'm paying $700+ for them and $500 is pretty rough to swallow...

Really...? It's only me and one other person interested in buying a WALD LED kit to replace the fog lights if we can get it at a discounted price? This isn't a commitment to buy yet... Just an interested in buying list. That way we have something to go to the distributor with to say we have "X" number of people interested in purchasing these provided we are given a substantial discount.

aMgAVERICK 02-12-2014 12:29 PM

Also Ive been doing some research on all of this... A couple of things...

1. The link I asked about earlier WILL NOT fit the w211 E63 bumper. Where the confusion lies is that the w211 E550 and I think E350 can be ordered with an AMG Package, thus... an AMG bumper which is different than the E63.

2. This may have already been addressed but I've also been looking at the LED strip that comes on a 2010 E63 AMG bumper... The led cutout looks very similar to the w211 E63 fog light cutout. Has this option been explored?

3. I contacted a seller that says he can get WALD products also.. Aka Eurosports I believe it was and told him what I was looking for. He said he will get back to me and let me know. Im waiting for the call and will post up what I find out.

I'm very curious though if the 2010 E63 AMG LED strip including the mounting plate will fit on the W211 E63 AMG bumper with little to no modification. Thoughts?

Send me the trims and I will make a mold. Produce several carbon fiber grills for exclusivity.

Chris The Swede 05-10-2014 03:50 AM

I am in for that...

Max.H 05-10-2014 08:54 PM

Lol who's craptech? Im still in for a set of these. Not feeling the round fogs.

Duc1098E500 05-11-2014 02:46 AM

Ok folks, I am in contact with a company that is interested in producing/selling to the E55 and E63 family. The kit will come with grill inserts/DRL Unit/ Wiring harness, and DRL module. I am doing my best to keep cost down and hopefully nowhere near Wald price. I do believe that the demand is high enough to convince their company's president to give the green light. Keep your fingers crossed...

travitron 07-16-2014 09:16 AM

So what ever came of the kit from this company? I'm anxious to hear. Thanks

Max.H 07-16-2014 05:50 PM

The hell with it… I made my own. Black mesh grills, LED. I think it turned out great. Subtle and looks like very stock.

Actually the deletion of the fogs make the scoops look really big. Almost like a black series on a smaller scale of course. I will post pics shortly.

Anyone want to lend a pair of the Walds? I could scan them and then have a third party company make a 3d print reproduction.

Chris The Swede 07-21-2014 04:26 AM

Very intresting..

Air.Randy 03-02-2015 09:55 AM

Any updates on this?

To my knowledge, this one particular LED adapter/insert was designed for the E63 AMG front bumper. If you want to PnP, I guess some mods to the bumper or the LED insert, or maybe the infamous E63 AMG front conversion is awaiting...:D

where can I buy this

Chris The Swede 03-21-2015 07:55 AM

From WALD Japan.

I'm about to install the Wald's LED can someone who's installed these help me out? I'm having issues mounting the LED to the actual housing. I can't understand the instructions. It seems like it shows you to just screw the LED's to the upper porttion of the housing but that would come out the other side and won't slide into the bumper without dragging and scratching the paint up. If someone could assist it would be greatly appreciated.

For anyone wondering I got it on Buyee.jp for approx $400 all said and done.

It's been a long time for mine but you have to cut out the fog light housing, LED's slide into the slot and you screw it in. Mine wasn't a perfect fit so I used some tape so hide the visible gap.. Instructions are all in Japanese so good luck there.

You need to cut out a portion of the fog light bracket from your bumper, just as LemonSqueezy mentioned. I am currently installing my Wald LEDs, so I took a picture for you. My bumper isn't OEM though. It's the suvneer E63 bumper.

Attachment 366918

Notice the two holes on top of the Wald fog light housing. Your Led light will bolt right up with these holes. Trim your bumper accordingly for fitment. Don't forget to test fit your led lights in the actual Wald housing. I had to sand down a few spots on mine. I hope this helps. Good luck :y

taeng 06-30-2016 12:48 PM

I couldn't mount the bracket to those 2 holes, they just wouldn't line up for me. I just ended up mounting via the 2 holes on the sides. I also ended up wiring it to the cig lighter fuse in the front same with a fuse tap.

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is interested I am selling my brand new never-installed Wald LED DRL purchased directly from Wald because I sold the car before I got a chance to install them. PM me if you're interested.
