50watt hid upgrade?

2004 E55 with Stock 35Watt D2S HID's, any way of getting 50 watt units in there? Anyone done the conversion?

Thanks

I would definitely be interested in this! There are aftermarket D2S 50 watt kits, I think the hardest part might be finding a place to mount the ballast, but I don't know for sure.

EDIT: Just googled around and seen that in some other cars, the bixenon functionality is controlled in the stock ballast. I wonder if that is the same for our cars??

Why would you want your low beams higher/brighter?
Take a look at this.

And here is one for those with halogen headlamps,

I remember that thread. In my area though, I cannot drive with high beams on.

I don't want them higher, I want them brighter, stock the HID's on our cars have pathetic light output

Not on the benz but I run 55w HID fogs on the 997TT in 3000k format... super bright but they are lower (fog lamp locale) so they are not blinding. Its an easy swap and Im sure you can make such changes for your headlights with the slim ballasts (I have the slim ones for the 55w)

I would not change my headlight wattage. The GTR bulbs are strong, the P car is good, and the Benz is the best of the lot. 4300k's are very very bright.
