Rear Airmatic Installation
Has anyone changed their rear airmatic gas damper DIY or by a non MB dealer workshop ? I have issues with my rear and it was mentioned by the workshop that the rear airmatic needs special tools for installation.
Can someone verify.

If you are talking about the shock absorber than it's a piece of cake and does not require any special tools.
If you are talking about the bellow then it's considerably more complicated but I've read of people doing it themselves with no special tools, just somewhat labor intensive ( assuming you choose not the lower the subframe, which I wouldn't ).

Just to make sure that both gaps between the air spring and the arm are 29mm and 16mm, or something similar to that if lowered, otherwise you might have them blown up after a short period of time, which i did have one of mine blown after just a month of installation when lack of this information.
