for the group buy special EC has for their LT headers. i dont understand why you wouldnt want to get them. they are stand up guys that stand behind their products and not a long wait time either.

Good luck with your poll. This is a MB forum, the idea of a tuned car is still somewhat foreign to a lot of members. You'll be lucky to find a member to have long tube headers on his car. I'll go out on the limp and say that no one/vendor have ever attemp to do a headers shoot-out so no one will know for sure which is best. Just buy some and be happy.

It's impossible to compare them in this poll since no one has made a dyno comparison between them and most people will try only one set of headers and stick to them regardless if they are the best or not.
Sooooo...I'd choose the EC longtubes just because they are cheap ( with the special going on ) and they look fantastic in their construction.

Totally not going to vote, so the results are not altered by my bias.
I will say this, its very hard to be good at many things. I found this out in my teenage years when I gave up playing the drums and piano to focus on only the guitar. When I did that I got much better at the guitar because that was my main focus. I applied that mantra or way of thinking with what I do for Mercedes.
I've thought about and in some cases tried, to make things that ventured away from what the main goal was. In the end It just got my mind away from where I think we excelled in.
When I set out to form a company, the goal was to make headers. At the beginning stages it was the C55 because i owned and drove a C55. then a Customer of Dyno-Comp's walked into the shop while we were dyno testing my C55 headers. He asked Rich and myself if we could make them for his E55. So, we said... Why not?
After developing the e55 (w211) header. We felt that we might be onto something. My main concern was quality. I set a meeting with Rich from DC and my personal friend who was fabricating. I wanted to make sure what I was getting on my car (performance and quality wise) was what the end user was going to get on their car. That really set the mark for how MBH was going do things.
I know I've said this a few times. It may be hidden in some random post/thread some place along the way. Maybe under my 'Hooleyboy" user name??? Its not about the money for me. I'm part owner in a few companies other than MBH. Thats where I make my living and I'm able to afford an AMG.
I do MBH because I love these cars. I have a passion from them that runs deep. From when I was 16 years old zooming around in a 190E Mercedes. Thinking I was the sh*t. The moment making headers and exhaust parts become un-fun... I will stop doing this and hand over the company to Dyno-Comp or whoever has the passion to do it.
Fact is, i still have the burning desire to make someone's Benz go faster. So much so that MBH Motorsports now has 18 different cars that we make headers for. Its such an amazing feeling to build something for someone, at the highest standards. Then get that phone call or email, letting you know that they are happy.
With this small monster that MBH has become, it really boils down to.... How are you treating the customer? If you made a mistake, how do you make it right? How can I give the customer a "wow factor" when they get their product? How can I let them know my product is legit? In that case, I offer the power guarantee. Assuring what our test results are, are what the end user is going to get and can expect. Accompanied with a lifetime warranty.
Lastly, and I know this post is long winded. Many people have their tuners and shops that they are loyal too. I think thats great. I totally understand why. It only makes scene to stick with whats working for you. With that said, MBH is not trying to force a specific tune to you. I like to see what other shops can do with a performance tool we offer. Although we do offer header match tunes, its not aways what the customer wants to do.
Thank you guys for considering MBH and having a poll with MBH in it. It's flattering to say the least.
Best Regards
Mike

Look at headers as formed steel pipes and it's easy to think that aside from a few different designs, and assuming each is a quality build, there can only be so many differences.

...a panty dropper...
MBH = Lifetime warranty. Think about that. When I get my E55 when I get back I am getting MBH longtube headers because of how they back up there product and I have never heard anything negative about them. EC are great headers too with proven results like MBH and they stand behind there product as well but no lifetime warranty. I would say MBH or EC but MBH would be my first choice. Good luck!

For facks sake just reach out to the vendors and do research yourself - as we've mentioned nobody is going to be able to give you a comparison one versus the other because to our knowledge nobody has swapped one for the other with the exception of changing out shorties for long tubes.
And you're comparing apples to oranges with the shorties versus the long tubes anyway, so do some research and decide what you want and narrow down your search. We're not going to search for you. This is, like you said, a 2-3k investment. So be a big boy and research your purchases.
Making an all-caps superlative ambiguous thread that asks for a comparison between an E55 and a Lotus isn't "doing objective research," it's an opinion poll.
Obviously MBH is available to you to answer any questions about his product, so I would tap that resource and contact him!

And, because obviously you're too lazy to search, here's a direct comparison between the MBH long tubes and the Renntech shorties:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...re-w-dyno.html
It's literally the first one that comes up whether you google or search the forum.

I'm strictly going off of pics but when the collector is located under the car you tend to get a tad rumble/drone upon take off from a stop and as your car is decellerating coming to a stop but on the freeway there isn't much notable drone. The MBH collector is located closer to engine compartment so there isn't any drone. I've gone for a ride in a E55 w FF & the collector located under the car and the rumble/drone is more noticeable than the MBH headers.

I have Kleemanns with the primary cats deleted and everything else stock.Like mid section, second cats, resonator and stock mufflers.
I have zero drone and my car sounds almost stock! complete sleeper going down the track.

+1 (for quality and price)
There is nothing better then the comfort of a lifetime warranty. With that said, what's the average time someone owns these cars? Do you plan on driving this car in 5 years? How many miles will you have in 5 years? I'll take a lifetime warranty on a 2012 63, I dont really need one for my 05 55K. Give me 3-5 year coverage and I'm good.
Does EC really not give a warranty? Someone who knows for sure please chime in. I was putting some cash together to hop in in the group buy but no warranty would not be a wise purchase...

$$$ is no object -- I would get Supersprint. Since money is- MBH or EC. As you can see I opted for some shorties.
