thinking of 2005 e55
I think its also made me kind of bummed out just that her car is quicker then the mustang... kinda sad.
I would really appreciate some feedback if you guys think just going for a e55 would be a better choice then dumping money into the mustang.
And how much of a money pit can the e55 become when it comes to repairs?
Thanks in advance Im new here so id just really like some help.

Yes the E55 will be more expensive. There is nothing easy about these cars if you're used to working on American cars.
But the E55 is way more fun, has 4 doors, goes like hell, and in the end it's a Mercedes, and a Mustang is well, just a Mustang.
Apples to Oranges.
Its funny you say you'll enjoy day to day driving. that's what my friend said that sold us the e500. He said dynamic seats, satellite radio, massage seats all might seem overkill at first but you will never want to drive a car without them again. and that's kinda where I'm at.
by the way the guy that sold me the e500 got a 2008 s65, that car was honestly amazing even had the night vision in the dash.
I just traded an '05 E500 for my '06 E55 and couldn't be happier... Lots more power and even more creature comforts than my E500 had.
Some will disagree, but the Mustang is a "young guy" car. It is fast, crude and plentiful.... You won't feel unique driving one, because they're everywhere. As an older guy (44) I could never be seen driving a Mustang.... If I was ever going to own one, it should have been about 20 years ago. To own one now would just smack of "mid-life crisis desperation"...
As I get older, I am more drawn to cars with the "iron fist in a velvet glove" approach.... I don't need big spoilers and windshield stickers to draw attention to myself. It's a lot more satisfying to be in an understated car that can absolutely humiliate 98% of the so-called "fast" cars out on the road.
Something you probably already appreciate since you own both cars..... The Mercedes has a lot more to offer than just pure speed. When you want to just relax and drive comfortably you can do it. You can hold a conversation without shouting over the exhaust.... And when you take your lady out for dinner or a nice weekend getaway the Mercedes is a much more elegant and sophisticated way to get there.
Search the forums here for plenty of details on repair costs. Hint: Get a warranty and you'll love the car a lot more. The E55 was almost $100,000 when it was new.... The repair costs don't depreciate like the car does; keep that in mind.

I too ran V8 Mustangs for years. I too had rattles, loud exhaust, jenky plastic interiors, interior coolant leaks, loud power steering pumps, etc. Hahahahahaha
Sell the Musty and grab the E. You'll never go back.
pulley, tune, heat exchanger is 460whp and will be more than enough for you.
Then you can get stupid and do even more mods but you cant use the power.I havnt used first gear on the street in over a year haha.
DO IT!!!!

I'm still a "young guy" 24 years old. But I have always loved the devil in a tuxedo cars. Its just being young I never had the means to buy one. But now the e55's are in my price point.
I really appreciate how cool everyone on this forum has already been.

In a car now. I actually still miss my 04 cobra.
The E55 is a more refined vehicle than the Mustang, and very fast. With some mods it is a great bang for the buck, and more unique than the Mustang.

Sounds like you just need to think about what you are looking to get from a car, and then go out and buy it.
