Sirius Radio = Internet Radio?
So I did some searching and I can't seem to locate a clear answer. I picked up a E55AMG (06). I activated the factory sirius radio and honostly I think it sounds like
It sounds like internet radio broadcasts from 1997. Very tin-ie and highly compressed. Is this the common Sirius experience, I thought it was supposed to sound better than normal radio, not worse.

GGRR This is really bothering me, I will have to check that in a few but I doubt it. Everything else sounds fine, just sirius sounds very compressed, think 64kbps mp3

Maybe my expectations were just to high, and I am to much of an audiophile.

Seems like others have similar beef as I do with Sirius.

Sat radio is terrible quality. It's pretty well known. Do a Google search for "sat radio quality s*cks." It's nothing but highly compressed garbage.
Here's some Geek telling you the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4td0q...eature=related
HD FM radio sounds so much better but I don't think the older COMAND audio gateway supports it. And not all stations broadcast in HD.
Best thing for music is to download high bit rate FLAC files and convert them to loseless AIFF files and play them off the iPod. Or if you have the latest COMAND then play them off a SD card or the hard drive. Or use a SDD disk off the USB port in the glove box.
The latest COMAND supports DVD-A, too. They're hard to find and not a lot of titles and artists available (check Amazon), but they sound FANTASTIC and support full surround (you will actually hear the rear speakers super clearly.)
Using LOGIC7 will make things worse on a normal stereo recording (it's a fake surround sound.) Use it on a true surround DVD-A.
EDIT: I see you found the answer. Now you know it's crap.
