Problems with overheating at idle...

I recently had a heat exchanger, Johnson CM30 I/C pump, and the PTE thermostat installed. It didn't began getting this hot until I had all of this installed. I have seen upwards of 120C.

Any ideas?

Perfect.

Now, is there an easy way to go about fixing this?

Air in the intercooling system is bleed via the bleed tube next to the supercharger. The engine should bleed it's self with use but you must check your reservoir as it should be low on coolant/water after the air bleeds.

248F is high. In addition to bleeding check the aux fan if it is operating.

Also, make sure your heater is on at max heat to allow for any trapped air to escape.

It's pretty damn loud, haha.

I tried this. Will bleed the line tomorrow and put in distiller water, for now.

At 84F, what should the engine temp be at idle?

Regardless of outside temps ( within reason ), your coolant temp should be around 190-210 or so.

Thanks, guys! With this thread and another, my boss and I were able to bleed the line and route into a 20oz bottle, until it began flowing freely. Continued this until all air bubbles were out. Turned the car off, and poured the rest back into the reservoir. Worked like a charm and lost little to no coolant.

Let it idle for about 20 minutes and the temperature didn't go above normal operating temperature.

SUCCESS!

Thanks again!

Okay...

Back to the drawing board. Just replaced the thermostat with a known good thermostat and it doesn't heat up as fast. However, it still heats up to 118C and I'm sure it would continue climbing. It heats up faster with the A/C on full blast.

Any other suggestions? I'm stumped.

Are you sure your fan is blowing correctly? At those temps it should sound like a jet engine, it's freaking loud when the car gets hot.
