2005 E55 Wagon

ESP Malfunction

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Unfortunately my '05 E55 wagon is indicating the ESP malfunction warning. Several weeks ago, I had complete electrical failure and had to replace the auxiliary battery. Now I have been getting the ESP warning. I have tried resetting by turning the steering wheel lock position to lock position several times. And still no luck. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks again!

im new to all this too.. but ive had mine on for quite awhile now.. and i believe its because one of my rear tires are really worn out. it says "ESP Inoperative". maybe check your rear tires? idk. just a random guess..

Thanks but its not a tire issue. This is most likely a result of the electrical woes i had. What are the chances its my steering angle sensor? BTW - there are no codes from my OBD.

I would try resetting the car by disconnecting the battery. See if that fixes it.

If not, take it in for service.

Yes hook the car up to STAR DAS and it will extactly tell you what the problem is and which sensor to replace. Most likely it is the wheel speed sensor.

Thanks everyone. I have a scheduled annual NYS inspection at the dealership, so they are likely to give some sort of diagnosis. I will let you all know.
