Water in the spare tire compartment
Hi guys,
I was cleaning my trunk before washing the car and noticed I had about a cup of water sitting around the spare tire compartment. It rained 1 week prior. I checked the liners and flooring in the trunk and rear passenger seats and did not notice anything unusual.
I proceeded to wash my car and applied more water than usual to the trunk area to see if I had leakage somewhere. To my surprise, the compartment was dry. Anyone have any ideas how I got water in there? Thanks.

The only thing in the trunk that has water is the battery. So, its one of these 3 things:
seems I have water in my trunk too...
- Battery leak
- Seal leak, and water is getting in from outside
- Someone installed a meth tank in your trunk, and someone else broke off the tank tap, and had to order a new one from Devils own today, with overnight delivery....

I think that its the rubber gasket around the trunk, that is allowing water to get in, in a heavy down pour. Also it could be the corners, rain gutters so to speak that is allowing water ti get in.

It does not take long for a genuwine post to turn into another mans joke.
Seriously though put someone in the boot with a really bright torch and blast away with a water preassure cleaner.

It's not that uncommon on the early W211. Do a search.
I think Konigstiger has the tech bulletin for it.

And also there's this class action suit (and not only the trunk leaking)...... (read the pdf)
