***WHEEL SWAP THREAD***

As some of you may know, I was looking to trade my HRE's. I've had several fantastic offers but nothing I'd want to commit to permanently. THere are some wheels that I wouldn't mind driving on but for a couple months or so. I also read in another thread that a couple members were throwing around the idea of a WHEEL TRADE THREAD. So what of this?

Would you guys be interested in starting a Sticky on a wheels swap thread? If done correctly, we can all benefit from having a new set of wheels every several months. There are a host of problems I'm sure you're thinking about and here are some of my solutions and ideas on how we can solve them. Please contribute whatever thoughts and ideas you have and if there's enough interest this could turn out to be rather cool.

1. MEMBERSHIP

Each participant would have to contribute $500 in order to participate. This amount is fair I think in case all the "what if's". For example, you trade a set of wheels and return them with rash or a dent. Well, your $500 deposit is more then enough to fix it. If you are a complete scum bag and steal someone's wheels, you dont have a deposit anymore and the other person that traded with you now has your wheels + $500. Your $500 initiation fee acts as insurance of sorts and good motivation to return traded wheels in the same condition they went out in.

2. WHO'S IN CHARGE

We can have a sticky thread that members can post to for this program. They can post pics of their wheels, their location, and what time period they are interested in trading. Other members that are interested can post comments or messages to reply to the classified. We can have a poll of volunteers on who should monitor the transactions, voted on by the form members themselves.

3. THE LOGISTICS

It really wouldn't work for just a deposit and mailing of the wheels. We can organize it in such a way to make it official. There should be some rules and regulations. For example, if you want to participate, you should be prepared to mail a copy of your drivers license to whoever is elected to be in charge.

I dunno, I'm just throwing some ideas around. Let me know what you think and add things to the list to see if this is possible!

too much risk to make it work, all it will take is for 1 person to get screwed over and the whle thing will fall apart. I can possibly see it working in small local groups but not with complete strangers or forum "friends". TC
