Which MB Star diagnostic are you using?
Which MB Star are you guys using? Seen quite a few out there, which one is the best bang?

How can you tell the difference? Mine is an ollllld timer but than again so is my car so they work perfect together. Running on late 08 update. Its all I need. Love that Star Das!!

They all seem the same to me! It's the 2 10 foot cables I don't understand! Is everyone programming/coding their cars from 20 feet away?

Compact 4 can be set up wireless. Star machine connects to the internet via wifi, connects to the multiplexer through the wifi router, or through internal wifi.

LOL ... I prefer to sit in the seat of my E55 - It has a cup holder, I can get a massage, and with the ventilated seats I can get cold air blown up my A$$ ...

So you don't have to plug the machine in to the wall every ten minutes, so you aren't limited to 10 feet between the machine and the car, and so that damn green cord isn't in the way. Its bad enough tripping over an extension cord going to the cart, why add an LAN cable and a green cord to the mix?

Found one outfit that sells the C4 compact for less than most. Trying to decide between using an ancient T30 laptop or something more modern. Different hard drive apparently.

Thanks ,just that I would like to swap out the HD so my 4yo can play on it when it is not serving garage duty. He broke his last lappy. 
Doubt the T30 can stream HD shows over the NAS properly. But then a T30 is about free these days so if it drops, who cares..... The T30 version does not have Xentry for 2009 and on vehicles and comes as an internal drive. The All Computer is an external drive. The claim is the T30 version is quicker and smoother.

FYI I received the C4 Compact from the vendor, but the hard drive is fried. Cannot be read.
Will see how well they take care of the situation.
