HELP! Can't get rear lowering link on
I'm in a bad spot. I got the shorter side of the lowering link off, but I can't get my hand up in there to pop on a new one OR for that matter put the old one back on. What tricks or other items did people remove to get at this?
My issue now is that I can't drive the car unless I can get this put back together.

What a nightmare this was. So I basically learned that you can't put the old rear linkage on. At least not while laying on your back. I couldn't get enough leverage to snap it back into place.
The good news I was able to snap the new rear lowering link on with relative ease.
So, I thought I was all set, lower the car and bamn, I'm slammed. Back up she goes, two turns out, back down, better, but rubbing when hitting the littlest of bumps. Back up again, two turns, back down, better yet, but.....still rubbing every once and a while.
Back up, one turn out and WHOOOPs, I'm out of threads!!!! PHAWK! What to do? I went to Home Depot bought a 1/4" coupling (it's about an 1" long), then sawed the lowering link in half, put a few extra nuts on to help hold the coupling in place and went back at it. DONE! I got it installed.
But after all this, I'm basically back to the same height I was at! Why? We'll it would seem that the RS63 20's I put on require spacers to clear my brakes, but when I put on that slightest of space, 5mm, it pushes the tire out far enough that if I lower it further, it hits on the inside of the rear fender wheel well. WOW, that was a lesson learned the hard way.
BTW, for those of you attempting to do this yourself, I strongly advise to take the two nuts out from where the actuator arm is mounted. I didn't take pictures, and if I don't crawl back under the car for several months it'll be too soon, so you'll have to just keep this in mind when you go to do it. But there are two nuts 10mm, you can get to them easy, and it helps you move around the side that had the actuator arm on it. Hope that helps.
Russ OUT!
ps, I'll post up pic's when I recover, laugh all you want but that just took me 6hrs, 1.5 of which were literally me just cursing.

Russ, these links have been a PITA for us. I think I'm going to order links from adj air ride and have a buddy install it for me. Glad you have yours on though. Can't wait to see the pics!

What size rear tires are you running? I'm on 285-25/20 with links, no rubbing at all. I'm not running a spacer on the rear though, its a tight fit but the wheel barely clears the caliper.

I'm running the same [285-25/20]. Just got back from dinner, and had to drive in "raised" mode on the highway. At speed hitting some dips, it would bottom. I think i need to remove those spacers, or get 3mm instead of 5. Yeah, I think that little bit could be all that I need.

I'd try removing the spacers first see if that helps. It might also be the tires, some have a more squared off sidewall despite being the same width. This is how low I am in comfort mode with vredesteins. No rubbing in sport 2 either.

Yeah, I think you are right, I'll need to try without spacers. While only 5mm, it pushes out the tires enough that they are almost flush with the outside of the quarter panel. Do you have a pictures of the vertical, the tire to the outside of the quarter panel? Do you have spacers on the front? I mean u'r an 03 just like me.
I've also put out feelers for 3mm, bump down 2mm.
BTW, I'm running Falken 452's. Had them before and love them. Good looking too.

It's not hella flush but you can get an idea how it looks without spacers.
Thanks, you should post up some pics... '03 represent
