CEL after swapping Air Boxes 07 e63
There are many threads on this issue that i have searched, but none seem to give me a straight answer.
I swapped my stock air boxes with Air Boxes modded by bruce at ttm, I also took out the charcoal filter before putting the modded boxes on.
Now all i have on is the modded air box, and green filters.
Everything was fine until i slammed the gas pedal earlier today and floored the car, as soon as i did that, a CEL light came on, what to do now?

I was planning on doing a tune, but only after some pulleys being installed. Just paid fo school so a bit low on cash for now as far as a tune goes..

If it was me, I would get a scanner from autozone and see what the code is. The scanner will also allow you to reset or clear the code.

Autozone will read codes for you for free. Start there and then look up the code, and im sure someone here will be able to help.

also, a little off topic, but does anyone know what gains (if any) should i be expecting after installing the modified boxes on my car?

too much air flow requires more fuel + less restrictive exhaust .
Here is where the fun starts ! Tune to increase fuel and also remove a set of cats for more flow and u will be OK .
Clear the codes for now and dont to any WOT runs until u get the car back from dealer .
prior to modding my car when i removed the intake baffles and also the charcoals and added a K% N i only got the CEL went i did blasts past 120 MPH . Under normal driving it would shut off .

This happened to my car as well. I changed the filters to K&N and took out the charcoal filter about 50 miles later the cel light came on. Cleared the code it read p0175 which is a maf malfunction. The light came on again put it back to stock and the code cleared itself. Not sure what the problem is.

Get a tune and you'll be fine.. The car isnt use to all that air! But defiantly fix your ESP malfunction first before you get a tune.

Its okay. I would go back to stock and then when you get some $$$ to get a tune throw the box back on. Remember when I told you when you start tuning these AMGs you really have to pay to play lol. I think the best bet is to go back to stock just to be on the safe side.
