Your in the same boat as me. No long tubes in Cali right? I'm assuming that is why you are researching the shorties.

Must be looking at the set on Ebay. Install is not that bad, keep in mind though for visual inspections in CA, those headers stick up a LOT more than other shorties and can easily be see from the top.

Actually one of the guy around my area is selling his E55 and parting out few parts. He has the header for a year and he was charged $500 to install it. Now, to do the swap the same shop is asking even more. Just want to know how much I should pay the 1 year old header. He also has 180 pulley but I will need to tune my car. I rather upgrade the header and gain 30hp than tune+pulley= need heat upgrade. I just don't heard people install Evotech header, most are kleemann, reentech...

I'm sure install is similar to any other shortie. I think there is even a DIY on these headers. They sure do look sexy though-for headers. If you were closer I would throw them in for half that. I know almost all of the shops in Chino-5 years ago. Not many I would trust to be honest, same as anywhere. I dealt directly with them wholesaling parts. Who is the shop in question?

The shop is about 2 years old in Chino area call Startech. I do my car service over there for oil change but I don't think they have deal many AMG before so thats might be the reason taking longer time and charge $500 to install.
How much do you think a used evotech hearder worth today ? I try to search this site but not many people have evotech.

Evo headers run $1800. Several were on here listing them for $1000/$1500. To get them installed its about $500 labor give/take. I know for EVO you have to remove the steering column for one side to have enough room.
There is a DIY by one of the guys on here.

To OP, you can get a set of Evo's for $700-$900 depending on seller motivation and condition.
To install them, you should be able to find a shop to do it for ~$400.
As far as what to do first, I would 10000% do a pulley and tune FIRST. You can get away with paying ~$1300 for a good set up, installed.

Yes yes, they are the ones who still proudly rock the "CHANGE" and "HOPE" bumper stickers. LOL.

Then tune + pulley $1300 so total $2300 to $2500 and my car will run like champ. The guy who is selling his car has Renntech tune and 180pulley, I might buy those and he also told me that he has the file with machine to run ECU. Do you guys think its safe to do so ?

Sure it would be great to get them all from one place. With those kind of mods someone here might know the source and can chime in..
