AMS have always built monsters. I remember the EVO 8 that was running high 7's. When I had mine I was hoping to get the 600 AWD package.

We build the trannies for AMS and many other shop GTR's Like Switzer perfomance. I can tell you that the tranny holds up fine at these levels
The AMS shop evo ran a 8.4
I actually drive another GTR for one of their customers and drove it to a 9.06. Top notch company.
