There's no real noticeable difference from a resonator delete on a 55. Sec cat and res is deff noticeable though.

Paid $75 to have secondaries and resonators cut out and x pipe welded in using 3" piping. Very easy to do and no noticeable drone....as many have said previously...just a little bit throatier in the sound. I like it! I actually cut off my mufflers and ran without mufflers for like two weeks but had to put them back on because it was "stupid loud"!

Yeh..from what I've heard from owners who have uploaded this setup..its the perfect sound..not too loud not too quiet..Also I don't have to mess with the already perfectly looking and fitted stock tips..Thats the biggest reason I think for doing this mod. Cars already pretty fast...I can live without a few hp without an expensive upgraded full exhaust system.

Nothing you will notice. But it's possible you will lose a bit down low.

Got a bit of a surprise today. I went to my local muffler shop to get the secondary cats and resonators deleted and found out they have already been deleted on my car! A buddy of mine who also has a 55 mentioned that my car sounded pretty loud for a "stock" car.

I still think the sound is pretty tame..but I guess I will live with it for now

Surprised no one has stories of being turned away. I've been told no by many shops when inquiring about a cat delete, even shops that kinda know me.

Lou's custom exhaust. The are a chain as I'm sure you know. I would be cautious, as some of their shops don't do the best work.

2004 E55 AMG & 2006 ML500 (both black-on-black-on-black)
Interesting this thread has came up now... I'm going down to a reputable exhaust shop tomorrow to have 2nd cat and resonator deleted. I was hoping to have a very loud roar under throttle, but I have no idea what it would sound like...

Does anyone know what would have to be done to make the E55 AMG sound like this video clip, or is this heavily modified and not just the exhaust?
