Question for the painters here

Have a problem with tinting the E55 center stop light. When we clear the darn things they crack right in the center weak point. Is it better to tint them mounted in the trunk lid?

Thanks!

Might have to if there is tension in the lamp.. I would try loosening it so you can slide paper in between the lamp and lid. Tighten the lamp just enough so you can still slide the paper out when the clear is dryed. Tape everything off really good. Then spray it. When its dry unwrap and pull the paper out from inbetween the lamp and lid. Than tighten it back down slowly... just an idea. let us know what you do and how it works out! I will also be doing this

It's not like the SL series there is a clamp that holds the thing in place. Most of the time the lamp is broken during install in the "E" class. Funny thing is with the lamp sitting on the bench it cracked all by it's self after the tint was applied.
