Floating feeling at higher speeds on new rear tires...

What size rims/tires are you using?

One more thing: Are these tires directional? Sorry, I'm not familiar with Nitto Invo's. If they flipped them at installation, it will feel like the way you described it.
I've had this with incorrect camber before going from a used set to a new set for obvious reasons...I still love your freaking car.!!And also what Justin just wrote...My Hankooks feel quite a bit less floaty with 1K miles on them now...
@vic. If you are lowered (and you are, I am too) Whats happening is your rear tires have worn to the camber angle. In turn allowing more of the tire to come in contact with the road. So my guess is... the inside of your tires were smoked, yet the rest of the tire looked Ok or Ok-ish.
Now that you have new rear rubber. There is only so much of the rear tires contacting the ground because the tires uneven to the ground in relation to your camber. Essentially making the amount of new tire touching the road about the size of a basically tire, give or take.
Over time this feeling should stop. What that means though, is your insides of your tire are wearing out. Allowing more tire to contact the road.
I had the same issue on my SL55 after I swapped to new tires. In fact I still kind of have it.
A few solutions to this are:
- Adjust ride hight to stock. See if it goes away
- Look into a camber/toe kit.
- raise the car up when driving

Thanks again.
I defer to Mike above. Clueless on this kinda stuff.
**edit, just read your reply Vic. Nevermind.
I only have 300 miles on the new tires, maybe it need some time to break in. I found this thread too https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ng-issues.html

It is a combination of your new tires lack of contact point with being lowered(I am sure you are slammed
) and your toe is out of spec which is most likely the primary culprit.I am sure you will get it figured out.
