I have used both, usually would buy a gallon of distilled though. I suppose it would vary greatly area by area of how much minerals or other stuff may be in the water that could leave deposits to clog up a nozzle but as for affecting the engine I would not be worried either way. It is amazing how clean the pistons and valves stay when running meth injection.

I've ran water/meth on my truck for several years and I would suggest always using distilled water. I've done several oil analyses and with tap water and it leaves mineral deposits in your oil, which is not where you want to see mineral deposits.

A year from now people will run rear tank, killer chiller, meth, and nitrous to combat the heat from 250mm pulley.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
been looking at this unit myself, seems a shame to put in a water tank alone without going the extra mile for a substantial improvement.

It has the instant effect but in a way that is a false sense of what the engine is seeing. Kinda like your engine could see super low temps according to the intake air temp sensor but since methanol flashes instantly due to not having as high of a latent heat of vaporization as water the temps will not be as cool in the cylinder and the guy actually even mentions that. I suppose since the car is not having extra timing thrown at it than it should be fine even if cylinder temps are higher than what the intake is saying due to the difference in the cooling properties of methanol vs water.
