Exterior chrome trim
Hey guys, I am looking to take off the chrome trim so I can paint it matte black on my e63. I plasti-dipped it last week but it didn't work as well as my badges. Is there trick to removing these things? I don't want to break them and have to order new ones. Also are they secured with adhesive or something else?
Thanks for your help

Why not do them Carbon Fiber? I think they have clips holding them in the back you need ro remove the strip all together. I know who did this before member loungn14 has done his so you can pm him for some help.
Good Luck to you
If you want them done in carbon let me know member renntech55 on here does this type of work and he is the best quality you will see around

I'm not to sure on the carbon fiber. I did everything matte that was chrome and I'm not sure if I would dig the carbon look. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I'm gonna give it a shot.

Well, today I started carbonfibrerinfg my chrome strips!
So far it's been a pretty easy job... I made half side and the fog lights tips.
I hope to finish tomorrow.

Pics?
I finish CF wrapping mine. Pretty easy and I think it looks great.
I hate chrome.
I will post pics as soon as possible.
Other option for those that don't like CF look, I recommend TESTORS spray paints. It's used on modeling and with a good primer I think the paint will grip on the trims.

I wrapped mine in matte black vinyl. I purchased my 3 inch x 30 feet roll from www.shadowlinetrim.com. It only costs $19 and I paid an extra $70 to have a local decal shop install it. Everyone that seen it in person said it looks factory. I love the way it came out. Ive had it for a few months and it's holding up perfectly.

What color? Matte or shinny?
