Alpine GPS Add-on
Took delivery on a 2004 E 55, but one without COMMAND. Dealer added Alpine GPS. Screen attaches just to right of A/C controls and does not interfere with controls or passenger leg room. Features and functionality of Alpine system superior to any GPS system I have seen. Those of you deferring purchase while waiting for COMMAND-equipped cars should consider this possibility.

Great post. I did something similar in my old CLK and was considering doing this to my E55 (supposed to be here next week). Do you think you could post some pictures so I could get an idea of how you have it positioned. Also, if you could post the model number of the screen you used I would greatly appreciate it.
