Tire Pressure Sensor Replacement

I have subsequently learned that while some state that TPMS batteries will last 10 years, in the real world it seems like 5-6 years at the most. I just discovered Oro-Tek

http://www.orotekusa.com/emb/RUready/ru-ready.htm

I found Oro-Tek TPMS for $79.17 each from DP-Accessories on Ebay. FYI oediscountparts.com was $162 each or OEM units. I let you know how it all works out

Ag,

Yes 5-6 year life, and the 03-04 55's have the High Order TPMS so make sure you get the right ones.
Luke at Tire Rack has them for about $90 each and you might be able to deal with him if you buy a set of tires and sensors at the same time, worth a try.

I read in an article (Underhood service magazine) that tpms life is shortened because of temperature changes and driving durations and such. Especially people who take lots of short trips.

Thanks for the info - - - I saw a previous post re Tire Rack. I thought I would go ahead and be the Guinea pig for the Oro-Tek TPMS which claim to be the High Order units. I like their business model which is based on the fact that there are zillions of TPMS that are just now starting to fail. I'll keep 'yall advised

4 Oro-Tek's (Part #OBE-004) TPMS installed yesterday and work perfectly. They are physically smaller then the original Beru units. Also the Oro-Tek valve stems are very high quality.

For those in similar situations, I just thought I'd add that mine were replaced under CPO -- no charge.
