edit- i would still keep the 05 cl65 and try to get it into the 140mph range

There is always a P-car... Switzer, and others are making them trap in the 150's. Look at Eddie Bello, he has a 964 that will give the AMS GTR a run for it's money. Although it's a bit outdated but it still puts the smackdown.

Do you guys honestly think if you took that bone stock engine and tranny, dumped it into our engine bay, put a ECU/TCU tune on it, it would be any faster than a well modded 55K motor?

I don't think so, I mean it will make 600rwhp/800rwtq on a good day, but you will have added a ton of weight upfront. Your top end maybe stronger but the 1320 would suffer in my opnion.

Look at what the 55K motors are making now, exotic metals for example, 600rwhp/700rtwq on a much lighter engine tranny setup. The 55K hits harder and from what I have seen is WAY easier to mod. So if you don't go Jody's route on the V12 platform, that 65 engine could make your W211 slower.

This.

When I go from driving my CL600, then jump in my E55, the E55 feels like a little sports car around town because of the weight difference. But like you said, once that V12TT gets moving...

This is a good point. The only way to compensate for the weight is to go with much larger snails. My car might be slightly heavier with the V12 but the power makes it feel like a lightweight.
