I'm not sure of whats going on, any anyone with experience on this?

The drivers rear side is sitting about 1/2 inch lower than the passenger side. It seems to be consistent, if I raise the car it elevates equally all around. The compressor has come on a few times at start up but not every time. Usually i hear it a few days apart but recently there was a few days that the compressor would come on even in the time from arriving at work to going to lunch. Then it stopped that and its is now back to every few days but that side is sitting lower.

I pulled the wheel off and visually inspected the shock and air bag/lines and I did not find anything out of the ordinary. No leaking sounds except for when pressing the button to raise/lower the car and that seems like it is functioning correctly.

If the shock were going bad and the airmatic was ok would this type of sag occur?

The car is lowered via star but not alot. 58K miles 07 E63.
Thanks for any input

Check the rear shock, not the airbag. Your shock probably blown.

ok thanks. Is there a specific way to check the shock, other than visual inspection? I looked it up, the shock with active suspension and sport package is $400+, does that sound right?
Thanks

Happened to me too over a year...Consistent sagging on one rear corner...Bad shock, and got it swapped back when I was under warranty...

Take a look at this page...it lists a E63 w/o active suspension. It looks like it is the same as the E350 E550 suspension.
