07 e63 65k ..2 problems

I have a vibration when accelerating under part throttle. 40 mph to 45 I will feel it. If I am 80 to 85 I will feel it only under part throttle. If the gas is push hard or to the point where a downshift is needed no vibration. Could it be driveshaft? All wheels balance and even swap wheels. I also had an alignment done. Remove rear wheel did not notice anything out of place.

Second problem.. If I am sitting and the car is idling I hear a sound from the rear like someone tapping the body with a hammer. Tap, stop for few seconds 30 or so and tap again. Like it coming from over the rear axle behind the rear seats.

Ok, I don't know what's going on with your first problem. Could be wheels, but like you said you swapped them and its still there. I don't know.

But for your second problem. Its the charcoal thing that's in your gas tank that's swishing around back there, and when you come to a stop it should end up going "doink" and sounds like a light tap on your rear bumper. No big deal, if your under warranty, i think there was a recall for that.

I'll try to find that thread, this happened on my 07 e350, but so far so good on my 07 e63.

check the Wheel Bearings . When you lower a car it puts more strain on the suspension . Ask Bruce i had the same problem and when we checked them they did need to be adjusted . Or if you have soft compound tire and the car sits for a few days the tires tend to develope a flat spot until they warm up .

update

Does not seem like anything in the fuel tank moving around. This sound is only when I park and idle. Its as if something is on a timer ..tic tic tic. I tried to record but very low. I will try again as the weather in colder...

I only drive on weekend so sitting with the tires could be it but I swap to stock and same problem. I thought about the wheel bearing also going bad and only under load but this is a vibration not a grinding sound.
Yullie ....had rear subframe bushing went bad on his E63 I think I will need to look at the rear subframe and work my way out.If not for part throttle no other problems notice.

I have the same noise from the rear, thought I read elsewhere it was due to the self leveling suspension making adjustments when I'm stopped.

Fly2

I think you might have solved it. I do not notice the ticks in my driveway like it said very low sound.
I notice it when I am parking at this one spot alot and waiting and that is when I will notice this tick. That parking spot is very uneven.
I am going to park and make sure its ticking and move to a flat spot. Like I said never in my driveway....Thanks Fly2 I am 100% sure you nailed it

Problem #2:
I notice that same ticking sound in my car as well. When I brought it in to the dealer for evaluation, it's was too loud in the service bay and service driveway for them us to hear it. It needs to be super quiet for it to be audibly observed. My gut tells me that it's not critical and that it has to do with the pneumatic air suspension system.
