So today the car was running AMAZING, felt so strong, so I was driving spiritedly... then when I got home and the car was idling, i hear this noise like metal slapping other metal.. I pop the hood and it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side, under the valve cover. It's not the injectors, I know what that sounds like.. this is kind of loud and slightly changes and comes back while the car is idling...

I really hope I didn't break a valve spring or something along those lines...

Post a vid, these engines are pretty noisy, perhaps you are paranoid?

my 03 benz makes the same noise ...no worries...just keep your oil changes on time!

I have learned that these are just noisy running cars. When I first bought mine I was the **** customer taking it to the dealership 3 times in 5k miles swearing something was wrong until I spoke with one of the A techs and he just went over every noise that I heard with a valid reason. My car was out of warranty so I know they would have loved to have taken my money to fix an issue but he even said that he cant charge me to fix a problem if it isnt there
