Color

I thought I had my color all choosen until last weekend. Boy, silver and pewter does look nice in the E55.

Has anybody seen or have a picture of an E55 in black Opal? That was my original color choice. But, I am having second thoughts. On a CLK, black opal is beautiful. I just haven't seen one in and E55 with those nice amg wheels.

Go with Pewter--it's beautiful. More pix at '03 E55 AMG link below.

As I'm sure you know, with a black car, you'll have a second career detailing your car!!!

I would go with black on this car. It really does look classy. The brakes put out enough dust on this car that I have had to clean the wheels anyway, so I would probably be washing it just as often if it was another color.

You should go see a Tectite one, that's the best color MB has available

Do you think that the Tectite color is for older people? I actually like the Platnium blue, but all my friends, family, and salespeople think that is for older ladies. So I have dropped that color. I was kinda think that for the Pewter, but it does look nice. I have a white car now, so I am trying to stay away from white. Had many black cars. Too hard to maintain for an everyday car.

Tectite is pretty dark, so you're going to have nearly the same maintenance issue as with black. Color choice is a very personal thing, so let me say in advance that my coments are not meant to offend anybody (so no flame wars, OK!!). Brilliant silver is nice, but there are so many silver cars out there (I read somewhere that 25% of all cars are silver), and in the sun silver sometimes looks pretty close to the white you seem to be trying to stay away from. Pewter is a beautiful color, and it's light enough to avoid high maintenance issues, but dark enough to have some definition to highlight the lines of the car. Good luck with your decision.

My father is 79 years old and all his past cars were silver.
I ordered obsidian black met. because I think the E55 looks classy and aggressive in black but hey, different people...different tastes. Never ask other people, go for the color you like.
Maybe not yellow or pink but... :p

Since when does age determine what color you like? I'm not old & I think Tectite is the best color MB has available.

Go see the new E in Tectite, you won't be thinking "old"
