Cup Holder

I know the E55 is suppose to be a sports car with 4 doors, but doesn't anybody else drink a soda or water when they are driving? That is the only thing I don't like about the interior. I think the cup holders are sad. If I had a passenger, which I always do for work, then the current cup holder gets in the way of their arm. Does anybody have an aftermarket idea or am I the only with this problem? I have heard the same complaints on the current 5 series. My brother-in-law had to get an aftermarket product to hold his bottle water in place.

im amazed thats a concern. the fastest prduction benz ever built, and your comment is that the cup holder is no good.the germans think at 140 MPH having hot coffee in you lap is unsafe..a very valid point, no?? if a dog leaps in front of you, the spilled soda may(will) short out the eletric system.. the're built in such a way that it should discourage you from using them.IMO

Dude...get over it....I like to drink bottled water now and then. Where the heck am I going to put my Dasani water in my CLK55?? all the way over to the right of me when I'm driving??? Makes no sense. My 1999 CLK430 was perfect....cup holder right below where the shifter is...couldn't have been any better. My motto , if it aint broke don't fix it. I can't imagine who would have complained about that cup holder to have it removed from the new model!!!

Unfortunately for me, I won't be going 140mph and would like someplace to put my drink while going a measley 60mph.

reason for lack of cupholders is because there's no drinking and driving in most of Europe 0% tolerance not even one shot, and MB's do reflect that in cupholders, been told this many times from different sources

Are you saying you cannot drink water while you are driving in Europe?
