The Valve body is basically the same and Bill has done E55 valve bodies before and performance transmissions also that were put in E55s.
Is this available for all 722.6 trannys?

That **** moves pretty effn good for 6000 ft elevation man!! Right on. Now If I'd only find some time to install my 3.06 and send my tcu down to jerry I could have some crazy fun too!

Maybe I'm asking too much.
The early ML 320's shifted like that at WOT with even a bit more of a pause between shifts. I think MB was being cautious about the AWD components and the 722. Now my ML400 CDI (Built in Tuscaloosa but only available in Europe) which has a 4 cam bi-turbo V8 CDI with about a zillion lbs of torque shifts pretty snappy between gears (0-60 is about 5.5 seconds). I suspect MB may have beefed up these later 722's to handle the torque because the early version of the ML400 CDI had some issues with the 722, but not the later ML400's. It would be informative to see the internals of one of these later 722's. If I have the time, which I don't, I would go through the EPC and compare part numbers for the various components, especially the clutch packs with other 722's. It's also possible that Bill Schurr at Paramount may know something about this.

Is that all that is needed now, install and tcu tune? No limp mode after that? If so sign me up for a 3.27 gear or 3.55

Your best bet would be to contact Bill and ask about it, I had just read other forums around the internet and came across him in some SRT 8 vehicle forum. He then mentioned how he has done the E55 valve body and performance transmissions for them as well so I got in contact with him. He really only does the valve bodies on the Chryslers since they keep him plenty busy, so no Mercedes stuff is even mentioned on his website but since they are so similar he has worked on Benz stuff too. The performance transmissions that are built use Benz AMG clutches and many guys swap out the AMG blue top shift solenoids for their brown top ones to get better shifts as well in their SRT 8 vehicles. His name is Bill Schurr and his website is www.Paramountperformanceproducts.com

2005 E55
car rips threw the rpms like its on juice!!!! nice vids man.

Debating if iwant to mess with my tcu since my car takes a beating the way it is now and I wouldnt want to put more stress on the tranny.

revving to 7k would also help big time in the 1/4 mile as 3rd gear would shift in a better spot in the power band.

2005 E55 AMG
Let's see:

Revving at 6,500, our stock gearing will fall like this:

1st to 2nd = 3,900rpm@51
2nd to 3rd = 4,200rpm@84
3rd to 4th = 4,600rpm@131
4th to 5th = 5,400rpm@185

Revving at 7,000, it would look like this:

1st to 2nd = 4,300rpm@55
2nd to 3rd = 4,500rpm@91
3rd to 4th = 5,000rpm@141
4th to 5th = 5,800rpm@199

If I use my dyno:

I can say that the car will indeed be quicker as it would have better average power, assuming it doesn't fall flat on it's face after 6500rpm.

Now, if we rev to 7K and install a 2.82 it would look like this:

1st to 2nd = 4,300rpm@52
2nd to 3rd = 4,500rpm@85
3rd to 4th = 5,000rpm@133
4th to 5th = 5,800rpm@187

Takes better advantage of the powerband AND faster acceleration via shorter gearing. Win - Win!!

2nd gear is even worse than 3rd.

GT-ER, could you slap in a 3.27 gear and 3.55 gear into your formula please? You left out rear tire sizing which would change the final gear ratio. If you can plug that in, the tire would be the standard 255-50-16

I used the oem tire size.

6500rpm w/ 3.27FD w/ 255-50-16:

1st to 2nd = 3900rpm@42mph
2nd to 3rd = 4200rpm@68mph
3rd to 4th = 4600rpm@106mph
4th to 5th = 5400rpm@150mph

6500rpm w/ 3.55FD w/ 255-50-16:

1st to 2nd = 3900rpm@38mph
2nd to 3rd = 4200rpm@63mph
3rd to 4th = 4600rpm@98mph
4th to 5th = 5400rpm@138mph

Those gear ratios are kinda insane imo...it would spin 2nd gear like crazy.
